The founders, Mrs. Anitha VL and Mr. Srinivas BS, are dedicated agriculture enthusiasts who recognize the significant nutritional potential of finger millet, commonly referred to as ragi, which continues to be a staple food across various states in India. They have noted that, despite its substantial nutritional benefits, finger millet is frequently consumed only in the form of flour, thereby restricting its culinary applications to a limited number of dishes. Consequently, this has resulted in a decline in its consumption among the current generation.

 

In response to this challenge, they sought to reintroduce the ancient grain finger millet in a contemporary format that appeals to modern consumers while retaining its inherent nutritional qualities. Through rigorous research, multiple trials, and extensive experimentation, IFI has successfully developed a method to present finger millet in the form of rice, retaining the natural nutrients and goodness of ragi, thereby significantly enhancing its culinary versatility and expanding its potential uses.
